Hello and Welcome!

My name is Dr. Gandotra and I am a nephrologist, otherwise known as a kidney specialist. I currently practice here in sunny Southern California and have my own private office clinic where I see patients.

I completed my Nephrology fellowship at University of California, Irvine and is double board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both Internal Medicine and Nephrology.

I believe that conditions such as kidney disease, diabetes and hypertension can be prevented or slowed with early detection and treatment. My motivation stemmed from witnessing my patients struggle with the transition from chronic kidney disease to dialysis or kidney transplantation.  I focus on modifying behavior and thought patterns to produce long-term, rather than short term results. My goal is to educate and empower patients so that they will facilitate their own treatments sooner rather than later. So, my motto “the more you know, the better you do” holds true for everything in life, including your health.

My focus in medical care is comprehensive so that all questions are answered and addressed. I am committed to quality patient care and I encourage all my patients to be proactive so that together, we can achieve the best kidney health.

It is my mission to raise public awareness on the importance of early recognition and treatment of kidney disease. Early recognition will reduce both the frequency and severity of kidney disease.

And I believe this can be achieved by education.  On my website, www.thekidneydr.com, you will find the most frequently asked questions by patients in regards to their kidney disease. You will find answers with corresponding illustrations to help you understand the information. There is no ‘medical jargon’ here. I hope you will find it easy to understand and useful. I hope to eliminate any fears or myths about kidney disease.

Dr. G
